Remede Spa – St Regis Singapore

I popped into the Remede Spa at the St Regis 2 days ago on a whim because it’s been a rough couple of weeks (with my PC crashing twice, losing data, barely sleeping because I am in desperate need of a new mattress and have yet to find the time to go source for one etc).

Their decadent foot ritual came highly recommended and I signed up for that along with the use of the steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. The first thing you notice is how clean, sleek, minimalistic the layout is. The interior is lined with smooth, cold granite and marble and despite the space being smaller than I expected; it still is private while maintaining its open layout.

The jacuzzi is right in the middle of the room while the sauna and steam room are both perfectly spaced and located so you never feel like you actually need to get up to get somewhere (unlike a few other spas where you have to really walk from one room to another).

The Eucalyptus Infused Steam Room has 3 sections of varying temperatures which I thought was a great touch because you don’t get options most of the time. The eucalyptus provided a light, subtle and fresh scent that complimented your time in the sauna. Speaking of that, an ice fountain filled with crushed ice was situated right out the sauna – providing a refreshing hit.

The infrared heated wave loungers (heated to your body temperature) provide a good spot to chill and maybe take a nap while you wait for your treatment. My foot ritual (45 minutes) consisted of a scrub, mask, light massage and nail buffing that was so relaxing I feel asleep a few times. The only detail I found quite off about the spa was that the foot ritual was conducted while I sat on an armchair that didn’t recline so when I feel asleep, my head bopped down and I was immediately woken up and it happened a few times – It got a little annoying after the second time. That was my only beef with this great spa.

After your treatment, your therapist will show you to the lounge while they ask if you would like to be served tea (they have a selection of herbal teas) or champagne. A tray of 3 cubes of chocolate is served together with your choice of beverage.

I felt completely rested and refreshed and it was just what I needed. I would definitely go back again – the next time, I’ll plan it a little better so I can spend a little more time enjoying the facilities. Remede Spa, St Regis Singapore.
