* Composition: Silicon dioxide 2 mg + Activated Dimethylpolysiloxane (Simethicone) 40 mg.* Indications: It is used in the treatment of conditions in which accumulation of gases in the GIT is a problem. This occurs in: – Air swallowing (aerophagy, eructateonervosa) met with in women about the menopause & in some neurotic men. – True gastric flatulence occurs in many forms of gastric disorders, the latter comprise cases in which fermentation occurs as in pyloro-duodenal forms of functional disorders of the stomach. – Intestinal flatulence occuring in: 1) Colonic dysfunction associted with constipation particularly in cases of irritable colon. 2) Any type of indigestion associated with excessive gas formation as carbohydrate dyspepsia, chronic pancreatic insufficiency, chronic enteritis, deficiency states & affections of the liver & biliary passages. 3) Intestinal obstruction cases & post-operative gas pains. 4) For elimination of gas, air foam from intestinal tract prior to radiography. Administration of DISFLATYL before cholecystography, pyelography & gastroscopy will be of great value. 5) As an adjuvant in treatment of peptic ulcer.* Dosage: 1-2 tablets to be chewed after meals & at bed time.
